no go buffalo
Not going to Buffalo after all. It turns out the tickets we had that were ‘buddy passes’ from Jay from USAirWays are actually not all that great. Even though you pay for the passes, they are “seat requests” (aka standby) not actual tickets. And worse still, buddy passes put you on the standby list under any paid travelers, employee travelers, and employees traveling with companions, and companions traveling alone.
So needless to say, there were 4 paid travelers that couldn’t get on the plane due to overbooking as well as 17 standby people that couldn’t get on the plane. The ticket agent woman explained that people have been at the airport waiting for 3 days to get a flight out to the east coast and we too probably would be. I didn’t want to deal with being stuck in some city in the midwest or someplace else waiting to get to the east coast for days and the trip was only for 4 days or so, so we asked for a refund. If we mail our “seat request” tickets back to Jay we’ll get a refund they tell me. At least we get that, I suppose. So I wonder how buddy passes are any benefit at all.. flying standby is not a benefit imo. But, I’m a person that lives by plans and reservations and confirmations, it makes everything less stressful.
I feel bad that I put Amritz through all this and made plans with my friends in Buffalo and put my parents through it. Sorry
Hopefully, I can visit Buffalo sometime soon.

Don’t you blame yourself - the situation was out of your control because of the type of standby tickets you had. Better to just make your own plans as always- much more reliable.
If you can’t make it here, we’ll come there - hehe ;o) XXXOOO
