i hate being sick. and it’s a holiday weekend. ugh.

I’m not that obsessed but.. my friends on the mini message boards gave me all these links and I found my mini waiting to board the Torrens ship to cross the pond… you can see all the minis on the right waiting to board via this live webcam!

Going jetskiing again on Sunday. This time with another crew of people and hopefully it will be warmer, 84 wasn’t hot enough for me last time 
I find I look forward to Fridays even more these days because
1- i get to wear jeans to work!
2- i don’t have to deal with 5 North 2.5 hour Friday traffic
3- the weekend begins and i can stay out late 
21 days left until I leave for London and Greece. YAY! and my mini is at the port waiting with a bunch of other minis for a boat to the states, double YAY
I’m going to try ginger pills for the flights and then the ferry rides around Greece. Myth busters proved it was the most effective with the least amount of side effects. Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself for the 12 hour flight with no carry-on luggage to keep me entertained.

Jetskiing!
We went jetskiing yesterday with Charlie, Jonathan and Tarrah. It was so much fun. We tailgated for the first 2 hours or so because the big 3 seater jetski had battery/spark plug issues. But after that we went out and Jonathan started wake skating in the very choppy water and somehow managed to stay up for longer than I could imagine staying up for. Charlie got up first try on the wake skate too. Typical Charlie. Then we took Tarrah out tubing and she did a triple barrel roll dismount, it looked intentional! Then I went out tubing and during my 180 degree turn around the jetski i couldn’t hold on any longer and decided to let go and I myself did a spin of sorts while falling off.. must be the centrifical force. My head and neck still are sore today from that one.
I taught Tarrah how to ride the jetski and she did fine. It’s really easy as long as you don’t have to dock the thing ugh. Then Josh and I went to try the wake skate. Josh couldn’t get up at all, though he gets up on the wakeboard and skis no problem. I tried and I got up the first time then didn’t know how to balance my weight and wobbled down. After 4 or 5 tries I realized I wasn’t putting weight on my front foot on the board.. Once I did that i stayed up crouched down skiing for something like 10 seconds and then lost balance and my ankle slapped the water really hard so I took a break.
I wanna go again next weekend!
yes, i still love my job
i’m on week 3 and i still love my new job. there’s lots of brand new technology already and being implemented. it’s crazy, the opposite of my old job. anything is possible here. AJAX, strict XHTML, CSS design.. all the new standards are being used. all of the coders are in house which makes almost anything possible. i’m learning a lot and the structure and standards i was looking for are definitely here. w00t
and it’s mom’s birthday today, happy birthday mom

Drove down to malibu with josh and jerry for breakfast then down to PCH along the coast and back up home. beautiful drive, i never drove through pacific palisades and brentwood before. I can’t wait to get my mini and drive it through the mullholland canyons. there were about 8 or so lotus elises driving through the canyon together, it looked like so much fun.
The delay with my mini is finally explained. The plant has been closed for upgrades recently.

i hate not having a car
So, my mini cooper s status has been “In production with no scheduled production date” for 4 weeks now and it usually takes 1 day -1 week to get a production date. It’s frustrating seeing people on the Mini message boards ordering their mini on 7/18 and having it built by 7/25 while I sit here watching mine at a stand still when I ordered it on 7/8. The dealer says that all of the cars they ordered around my date have been doing the same thing… sort of frozen in the queue. ARG. My production date is 8/17 so I won’t be getting my mini until late September.. I’m so sure it will be ready to pick up while I’m in London 
My mini and I will be crossing the pond at the same time!
I want a name for my mini. Something extremely British. I like Nigel, but Amritz hates the name Nigel is it that bad? Any suggestions? It’s gonna look like this:
