It’s been a while, let’s catch up
Since last post:
1. I heard Bloc Party’s new song “Mercury” and decided I do not like it.
2. I added my new job title to my e-mail signature at work.
3. I learned I how to water my peace lillies (wait until the leaves go limp, then water.. never before that).
4. I bought Paul & Kim a wedding gift.
5. We picked and ate our first tomato of the season (our tomato plant is not so fruitful this year).
6. I saw a king crab photo from Princess cruises crewmembers in Alaska. Eeek! scary!
7. I learned TopShop is coming to the US! and opening in NYC in fall, just in time for Tracey, Christine and my visit!
8. I bought 2 new run flat tires for my mini cooper and an alignment… Ouch! $560!
9. I gave Damien a bath. He smells like vanilla!
New NIN album… free
I’ve been neglecting you, dear blog.
I never posted it here, so here’s the latest NIN album… FREE to download:
Fresh peach pie!
I attempted to make this pie because peach season is almost over at the Farmer’s market. I picked up 5 peaches and made this pie… A day and 3 hours of my life later it’s done. It was sooo involved. I know I’ll never make it again. But it tasted pretty good… just not 3 hours of baking good
Synthetic Diamonds from Human Remains
So this company called “LifeGem” will make diamonds or other gem stones from the carbonized remains of a human or pet. Wow… I’m not sure what to think. It’s kind of eerie to be “wearing” the remains of a person or pet. But, I guess I can see the sentimental side. I’m just not sure I could “wear” them as jewelery. Hrmmm…
Mini Takes the States
Mini takes the states was fun! I read somewhere that 1300 mini’s showed up. Insane… it sure felt like that… for the rally I’d say there were at least 500 minis. The rally started at Westwood in UCLA parking lot with breakfast. Then it was on. The police escorted us through Westwood, stopping traffic at the lights for us. It was a sight to see!
Our destination was the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, but not until we made a pit stop at a secret location - Topanga Canyon Park. The parking lot probably holds 25 cars… so it was a feat getting everyone in and out… a slow moving machine.
I posted photos in my gallery bottom right… but also lots of photos here…
