Mini Rally!
Here’s a pic from the MINI skirts rally I went to on New Years Day. Josh got sick from my driving + what we call his ulcer and we had to end it at PCH but it was a fun drive starting in Universal City- Mulholland Drive 
(The MINI skirts is an all girls MINI rally group. If you have a MINI and you’re a girl in so-cal, you should join!)
I drive it in manual mode most of the time now. I really like driving it that way too.. perhaps I could drive a stick one day!
so much to say
so my mini is back and in good shape. they fixed him and i picked him up next day. it was the throttle body.. defective.. and that 9mph was “fail safe mode”… a bit dangerous if you ask me (especially if i were on the freeway!). as soon as i picked up the mini i went to burbank airport to pick up lori beth and then van nuys flyaway to pick up tracey.
we had a lot of fun. we all got our haircut friday and did some shopping, baked cookies, made pierogis and had our polish christmas dinner saturday night with real fresh kielbasa from mom! and some alligator rolls too! tracey dyed lori beth’s hair slightly darker brown and she’s parting her hair on the side now, she looks really great! it was nice all being together again, though i’m sure josh was a bit overwhelmed

total of 3 christmas parties hosted at work! one for our IT dept: breakfast in a conference room, one on the ships in long beach with a 5 course dinner and a live show for employees +1 guest, and another today outside in the cauldesac a huge tent set up with breakfast and raffles and a small gift for us it’s super nice that they appreciate their employees so much and do all this for us.

Is it a lemon?!
Last night Josh and I went out to get a pizza with my car and it took 3 times to start.. weird but we figured it was pretty cold.. maybe that was it. This morning I drove to work and it was fine. I leave work on lunch to go home and eat and visit doggies and the car stalls in the middle of auto center drive and magic mountain pkwy. in the intersection of course.. i start it and it starts again but only goes 9mph and the check engine light and EML light go on.. wonderful 9mph is EXTREMELY slow when you’re in an intersection.. you’d be surprised..
i got it into a parking lot near the mall and called roadside assistance who said they’d be there in 45 mins. After 45 mins I called them back and they said oh, i mean 6 hours. Yes, they said SIX HOURS. wtf. So i escalated the call to supervisor and supervisor again and they paid an “out of area” tow company to get my car at in 90 more minutes. so i walked back to work and then had the tow company call me when they were nearby. And so my mini is back at the dealer for a diagnosis tomorrow. 
I hope i get it back tomorrow night. I need it for my sisters’ visit!!

MINI has earned an official name.
today, my MINI was officially named. i was telling josh how i take my MINI to the limit… to the limit! to the limit! i started singing and josh sang the rest and now my MINI has a name: fhwdgads!
unfortunately you won’t understand this post unless you’re an avid homestar runner fan 
p.s. posted a few kansas city pics in the photo gallery from my recent trip there on business.. it was only a few days and i took classes so i didn’t have time to explore the city
Let’s Motor.
Trip to London and Greece was amazing!!! Just got in Sunday night and left for Kansas City this morning. I’ll get to that more on my next post and some photos of course too.. it may even require a mini site
Speaking of mini.. I got my new mini last night!!! I was sooo excited. It’s the coolest car ever. So many little gadgets and gizmos I didn’t know about and the dealer threw in lots of goodies like a free laser etched mini valet key chain, embroidered floor mats, the dash cup holder and the “finishing touch” package. I can’t wait to motor more. I drove myself to the Van Nuys Flyaway bus with Josh in it and I find myself staring at it admiring it’s beauty. *sigh*

I’m not that obsessed but.. my friends on the mini message boards gave me all these links and I found my mini waiting to board the Torrens ship to cross the pond… you can see all the minis on the right waiting to board via this live webcam!

Drove down to malibu with josh and jerry for breakfast then down to PCH along the coast and back up home. beautiful drive, i never drove through pacific palisades and brentwood before. I can’t wait to get my mini and drive it through the mullholland canyons. there were about 8 or so lotus elises driving through the canyon together, it looked like so much fun.
The delay with my mini is finally explained. The plant has been closed for upgrades recently.

i hate not having a car
So, my mini cooper s status has been “In production with no scheduled production date” for 4 weeks now and it usually takes 1 day -1 week to get a production date. It’s frustrating seeing people on the Mini message boards ordering their mini on 7/18 and having it built by 7/25 while I sit here watching mine at a stand still when I ordered it on 7/8. The dealer says that all of the cars they ordered around my date have been doing the same thing… sort of frozen in the queue. ARG. My production date is 8/17 so I won’t be getting my mini until late September.. I’m so sure it will be ready to pick up while I’m in London
My mini and I will be crossing the pond at the same time!
I want a name for my mini. Something extremely British. I like Nigel, but Amritz hates the name Nigel is it that bad? Any suggestions? It’s gonna look like this:
Look at the rims on the picture on the right… for some reason it rendered the one on the left with the standard rims. I got the sport package run flat tires
